I often test on the PC first to get it working functionally, then I make those changes to my Mac and hope that it will work over there too. If I remember right, the same changes did work on the PC side but not on the Mac. I'll try to get more info when I can get some time to really do testing and give you some feedback.Īs far as re-assigning the keys go, I tried to do that but it seems like it totally ignores my changes. As this is in the MAME core I did not yet have a deeper look, but I'll put that on my todo list. There is a known issue with the PC Caps Lock key in the MAME core keyboard handling which lets it get out of sync with the emulation maybe this also applies for the Mac.

But, it's not quite there yet (at least for me). My overall goal was to have a duplicate emulation system as my real system, that was I can get the advantages of programming on emulation and eventually test on real hardware. So that sorta solved my MESS problem but I think that's what nixed my V9T9 from working. I also switched up my Macbook Pro to a slightly newer one that supports 64bit. Although, the latest version won't run on my system for some reason. I've also been using V9T9 now that it's Java based. I really do like it and I think it's the best out there for hardware features but the keyboard kills any kind of productivity I gain with emulation. Specifically under the Geneve, can't get CAPS lock to work right, getting the special control buttons to work can all be very challenging and the Geneve seems to lock up quite often so I've pretty much given up using it for anything reliable. I just don't use it much because the keyboard handling is next to impossible to deal with.
